Here's yet another stinking contest and this time it's to win a pick g*ard variety pack AND a set of custom made African Blackwood, three degree, unslotted bridge pins with matching end pin.

This contest is open to any builder with ten completed guitars OR LESS under their belts. And.... in a continuing effort to not only listen to the wishes of others but to actually "hear..." the wishes of others.... :? :D and at the urging of our friend Danny V. this contest is open to Canadians as well.

Simply be the first one on your block to answer the following questions correctly and post your correct answers in dis hear thread (attribution to Duh Padma) and you WIN! I'll even pay postage so what do you have to lose? :D

QUESTION 1) Created through a collaboration of Dr. Michael Kasha, Richard Schneider, and Gibson these guitars were billed as "state-of-the-art" in their day. Although the resulting guitars and how great they were/are is debatable the resulting line of instruments were called?

a) Gibson Cannons
b) MK series
c) Mark series
d) b and c

QUESTION 2) An early maker of hand-made guitars who now produces parts for guitar builders such as pick g*ards, purflings, etc.?

a) Anthony Weiner
b) Michael Gurian
c) Kim Jong Un

QUESTION 3) Lindsey Buckingham plays an M1 built by OLFer?

a) Kent Chase
b) Rick Turner
c) Robert Horvath

QUESTION 4) Luthiers will occasionally refer to the primary three woods used for guitar backs and sides as "the big three." The term refers to?

a) Ebony, mahogany, and spruce
b) Rosewood, spruce, mahogany
c) Maple, rosewood, mahogany
d) Chrysler, GM, Ford

QUESTION 5) In discussions regarding how an acoustic guitar works and more specifically the backs, bracing for the backs, and thicknesses of the back plates with respect to projection the two primary camps that folks tend to subscribe to are?

a) Solid wood and laminated
b) Reflective and active backs
c) two and three piece backs

QUESTION 6) Martin D-35's have a three piece back. Although it's likely that the three piece back was a product of attempts to use wood that was dimensionally unsuitable for a two piece back guitar or, in other words, it's what they had.... over time the Martin three piece back D-35 owners have promoted three piece back construction as a "feature" pitching an advantage of this construction. What is the current "belief" that may result from three piece backs?

a) Prettier
b) More bass
c) use of environmentally sustainable smaller pieces of wood are used

The first one who qualifies for the contest as per above and answers all of the stinkin questions correctly in this thread WINS!

Good Luck To All!

I just told my wife, "Hesh is giving away free stuff." She said, "Hesh is the guy with the alien in his shop?"

Haha! Yes, babe.
